Did you bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc), go to its Processes
tab and verify that WinMail.exe is not running, and if it is running, end it?

Hi Steve
I am having trouble with the download. I am unable to close windows mail.
I think I have everything closed but I still can't enable the clear outbox
button. I held down the ctl alt esc and it did nothing. Will you please
tell me what I am doing wrong?

Have you right clicked on the Taskbar and chose Task Manager? Or have you just
rebooted?

Try CTRL-ALT-DEL and then go to Task Manager. Make sure you aren't using
the delete key with the numlock on.

I have followed all options in the WMUTil program and WinMail still will not
send messages in the Outbox.

This worked for VISTA!!

Did you check both the Applications and Processes tabs of Task Manager and
make sure WinMail was not running?

I downloaded and unzipped the utility, followed the instructions on the
website, and fixed my problem with stuck mail in my Windows Mail outbox. I
can now send mail.

Thanks Steve!
