My Name

Just a heads up.
I intend to post the pw2004.iso to alt.comp.freeware &
alt.binaries.cd.image tonight.
If anyone thinks that there is abother NG it would be
appropriate to post it to besides these two reply here with your
suggested NG(s), and I'll consider the appropriateness & whether
I'm able to cross-post to that/those NG(s) as well.
Testing has been completed.
The iso is up currently in alt.binaries.test.yenc
It is 2208 parts it's either complete, or it isn't on your
server.
Tonights post will consist of 21 RARed parts with a recovery
thread included in the RAR.

My suggestion, which I was considering doing myself, would be to post
the files instead of the .iso. Post 'A' one day, 'B' the next etc.
Most on dial up wouldn't go near a 525 MB download.

Yeah, that's another possibility, but I'm unsure if that is
Kosher, or not. I'm not clear on the consensus of prior threads
regarding the posting of the files as opposed to the iso.

I hope you mean alt.binaries.freeware...alt.comp.freeware is a non-
binaries group, and as such many servers will not safe the articles if
they are posted to alt.comp.freeware.

Like I said above, alt.binaries.freeware would be more appropriate
than alt.comp.freeware.

Ah yeah, nice catch.

I've not been following the discussions either. It would take an
extraordinary pedant to make any sort of case for not posting
individual files to a.b.f, whilst not objecting to the iso.

*sits back, waiting* :-)

Nope. It has been virtually destroyed these days by over posting and
at least one NSP has dropped it because of this.
Shame; it used to be a good group.

I've already added it, just in case.

Course they do. I used to back in the days when I was on dial-up (mind, I'm
not what most consider a "normal" user, hehe)

Isn't that a Netherlands group now?

Good as; I checked it before my post and saw over 300,000 posts. I've
dropped it from my dial up machine because I cba to even get the
headers...

Hi My Name,

ACF has permission from the PW authors to distribute a CD. ACF *doesn't*
have permission to distribute the files individually.

Greets Susan,
Allright, I'll take that as definitive then.
Thanks for the clarification.
