Nooo!

Yes its started here too

What makes me think this is going to be a heavy one!

It's not been too bad here, I thought it was going to be a lot worse so I'm very relieved! There was a light dusting over everything this morning, it has been snowing all morning but there's probably only about an inch now and it has almost stopped.

Hooray!

Got sent home at 1100.
Due to the fact the bosses did not want us stuck at work.
Roads bad until motorway and A roads tricky, heavy snow falling at home now.
Now surfing with my new sooper dooper tinernet.:thumb:

Just starting here but very light so far. Really don't need ANY more on top of the amount that's already here. :(

:lol:We have only got a dusting here in the Maidstone area and not much forecast for tonight and tomorrow but a few cm on Sunday.

This morning we woke to find quite a deep covering of snow had fallen during the night. The tree branches are all thickly coated and bending beneath the weight of it.... naturally this is not good news for power lines, so some folk (about 5,000) across parts of Wales have been without electricity. Tonight they say it's going to freeze...

If any of you are venturing out on the roads, take care.

The snow is now 6 inches deep here after more overnight.

It is now 1.5C unlike a couple of mornings ago when, at this time of the day, it was actually -7.7C. So, at least, the snow is getting warmer. :D

Our snow is warm enough for this-

But I'm sure you have some strange people in Finland who do the same at your temperatures, Urmas. :D

Wowee, certainly looks cold in Finland Urmas! The coldest place I've ever been is Switzerland and that was only about -15 deg C at the time!

I've seem the temp go to -18, years ago whilst on a survival course which got cancelled due to the cold!
More snow due for the south east tomorrow which will make things for the Monday commute interesting!
Stay safe people.:thumb:

I'm a tropical south Finland boy, so "cold" starts at -30 °C for me — northern folks think "winter" starts at -30 °C.

When I was a wee schoolboy, winter "PE lessons" were simple: a 5 km cross country ski piste... go! And the "cold limit" was -20 °C (these days it is -15 °C). Only problem was, our teacher was "old school", so when it was colder than -20 °C, we "only" had to ski a shorter, 3 km piste. Once — and only once — did one lad complain, saying, "it's -28 °C, couldn't we play basket ball indoors?" Teacher's answer was, "it is too cold outside when pee freezes before it hits the ground. So bring me a yellow frozen arch and we'll discuss this further. On your skis!"

... not to mention — years later — the first week-long "forest gig" in the army... naturally, it was the ONLY week during that winter when mercury stayed well below -30 °C for the whole week.

A rather harmless activity — although the US Army Field Manual advises against it.
