Come on I know there are others having issues getting their ATI Vista 2 Beta
drivers installed properly, I can't be the only one....

Let's work this out... for me I get this thing in the bottom-right that
comes up saying that there was a problem installing the driver (I had
numerous other errors beforehand, but after uninstalling and re-installing
and deleting various things and moving stuff around its come to this, which
seems like a solution should be right around the corner)

I have a radeon 9550, and the driver won't install - other than that,
everything seems to be running pretty well for a beta!

Anybody else? What ATI card do you have and what kinds of problems are you
running into. Let's figure this out!!

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128MB. Beta drivers work great.
Actually, the drivers that came with the install worked fine but
I installed the those from ATI anyway. I really thought that I might
encounter a problem. Laptops can be a bit more specialized in their
driver requirements.

Sorry, my ATI graphics card in my Gateway M675 P4 3.40GHz w/HT
is working great.

Only problem I'm having with the ATI display adapters is that Device Manager
(Mangler) has decided to lose my secondary display adapter (ATI Radeon 9600
series). It shows up if I check the show hidden devices tab, says it is
working correctly, but Windows absolutely refuses to put my secondary
monitor onto it.....it keeps trying to set it to the primary adapter
alongside my main monitor, which is a no-go. I've had to disable second
monitor for now. (Vista 32 bit running here)

I'm not having any problems and have had a noticeable boost in performance and
smoothness of stuff after installing them.

Running two machines one with X1300 512M the other X600 256M both work
fine with the ATI driver except for losing there saved profiles now and
again. Usinf Aero with both, installation seamless.

X1300 on Vista 64 and X600 on Vista 32

I have a Radeon 9550 also, and both the ATI Vista drivers and the
Microsoft ATI drivers do not work. I am getting a code 43 error (device
reported a problem) after rebooting. Unfortunately, it is only possible
to use the standard VGA driver or the XP drivers, so no Aero :(

I heard that it could be the type of motherboard. I have an ASUS
motherboard. I think the problem could lie possibly with the SIS chipset?

Besides that, everything works nicely.

256meg 9600xt - Runs fine with default vista drivers (9600 wddm) with x2
crt's. I couldnt enable tvout however unless I turn off, unplug a crt and
boot back up again. From the word go Aero was running by default.
Updated to Ati Vista drivers, still cant get tvout working unless I unplug
2nd crt, performance wise, didnt notice a difference between the 2, and Aero
works here on either

Hi all. I have a crappy 9200se and it actually works better on Vista (with
catalyst etc)than it did with XP (kept crashing) so far I have had no
problems. (Until I come out of here and FATE makes my PC melt down for being
over confident)
Cheers Steve

Lets put it this way, it would be a first.

:-)

The right question would be, does anybody got 9550 working with beta
drivers? I am not sure yet.

Radeon Mobility X600, 128MB onboard, Gateway notebook, running great with
Aero Glass enabled, with either the default driver or the ATI Beta, Win Vista
x86. Vista reports this card as only 64MB, but that may be a reading issue.
Now the soundcard on the otherhand...

No problems at all, you have to get the ATI Vista drivers from their website
and it works perfectly.

encounter a problem. Laptops can be a bit more specialized in their
driver requirements.

The Beta 2 drivers for ATI within Vista and from ATI do not work for
example with notebooks from Acer or Fujitsu-Siemens. You have to use
XP drivers. I hope, that there will be Omega drivers for Vista soon.

I have a Radeon 9600 Series AGP video card. Off from a fresh install off the
DVD Vista loads up MS WDDM drivers. When i go into hardware profile it
gives me a Code 37 error. When i load ATI's drivers LDDM for Vista, i get a
Code 43.

I have a Asus board also..

ATI 128 AGP card would run fine except it would not play Movie Maker due
to lack of proper acceleration..

128 mb NVIDI PCI 5200 works fine..

Could be some sort of problem with Asus boards..

I have an Radeon all in wonder 9200 , I know it's an older one, but the
drivers for the display are fine the rest , IE: tv tuner , won't initialize

So far as I can see there is no support for this card to operate fully,
installing the drivers in XP compatibility mode ,doesn't allow the drivers to
work with Vista,

Just sharing my experience so far, Perhaps ATI will add drivers later for
some of the cards , My MX 4000 from Nvidia does great! It however is not a tv
tuner card,

Niv_GwO's configuration:
AMD 3000+ 400fsb @ 2.35ghz ,Asus A7V600-X, 1024Mo , watercooling Koolance,
power supply tagan 400W, ATI 9800 Pro 256, PCI USB2.0, SBlive!1024, ethernet
Card ATI 100mb, Maxtor 200 GigaB Sata , Maxtor 300Giga IDE 16mo

i hope to help you!
it's just a solution as another .... (it work for me)

Now the begin : in the device control
uninstall your graphic card, and give it driver VGA.

erased AtiXXX.dll or other in the system32 folder and in drivers folder
erase all the files in the C:\ATI
uninstall all program from ATI CCC.

Now you update you device and give VGA driver for your graphic card.
on execut tape MSCONFIG launch "disable UAP"
Reboot

Now update manualy your driver and selection the drivers from
microsoft corporation WDDM.

i extract the files from ATI and execute
C:\ATI\SUPPORT\ati_LH_RC0\Packages\Apps\CCCEX32\setup.exe

Reboot and at the boot i hope for you it will work

Sorry for my bad english...
bonjour de France :)
