As an afterthought: have a look in the device manager if any of the
listed items have an exclamation mark or cross

Hi Will,

I just had a similar problem after installing City Life. Turns out it
was the Star Force Protection that came with it. To check if it is the
case proceed as follows:

Open your device manager (Control Panel\Hardware\Device Manager)
Click View\Show hidden Devices
Click on the plus sign next to Non-Plug and Play Drivers
Have a look if anything is listed that got Starforce in its name

Post back with the result

To stop the computer restarting automatically after a system failure
proceed as follows:
Go to 'Control Panel\System'
Click 'Advanced'. On the part of 'Start up and recovery click 'Settings'
untick 'Automatically restart'. Make sure the other two options are tick
marked.
OK your way out

This way the 'Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) will get displayed with the
error message. Write down the line with the code and post back to us
(eg.: IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL). To
restart after the BSoD just press the on\off button on your computer
chassis.
