I thought he said new hard drive? 10GB new? New, when?

Have you tried the hard drive in the other system you pulled the cable from?
Is it recognized there?

Hi Andrew: I have a new Compac that is only several months old. A few weeks ago I got the same message. The store wanted me to bring it in saying it was probably a bad haard drive. But having build several systems i didn't believe that

I open the case and disconnected and reconected all the cables

When I turned it back on it ran great, and still does

Hope this helps

Trying to follow all of this chain. Wow what drama. The question I have is have you been able to get back into the bios yet? If you haven't, you might want to try going to the Asus website and seeing if there is a bios update for your mother board. It usually has a boot utitlty with it. Hope this helps.
