Is anyone familiar with the internal calibration system of the Nikon
Coolscan 4000 scanner? Does it calibrate each time the film is removed, or
is it supposed to happen at regular intervals when the scanner is idle?
I ask because Vuescan's 'Calibrate' function appears to have no effect on
the Coolscan 4000 (at least, not on mine) so I have no way of initiating the
calibration manually (or do I?). I read in previous posts that the Vuescan
'Calibrate' command does not have any effect with some other scanners also.
Is this because Vuescan has its own cunning method or that it is assumed
that the scanner calibrates itself automatically, hence my original
question.
BTW I did forward a problem report to Ed Hamrick but have received no reply
(perhaps because I forgot to zip up the log file - sorry Ed!)
