|One thing it occurs to me I haven't tried. Lots of tabs with the other
|main browser family Gekko. When I use Kmeleon or Mozilla, my use with
|them usually only involves less than 5 or 10 tabs. I wonder how well
|on my system they could deal with tho ~100 range.

Sounds like its time for an experiment :)

I can visualize how to do most of the experiment, but not all of it.

1. As the representatives of each browser family, I'd probably choose
MyIE and Firebird.

2. Clean reboot for launch and test of each browser. No other apps
running.

3. Set preferences in each browser as parallel as possible.
Most notably: Java, Flash, and js + activex scripting, all off.

4. Choose the best utility for getting resources count, also ram count,
for results after the 100 tabs have loaded.

5. For a list of which 100 sites to autoload, MyIE supports this. One can
just use a textual .cgp file and paste 100 URLs into that. Then use its
"open group" menu item.

6. How to do a similar thing as (5.) above with Firebird? I'm not at all
familiar enough with Firebird to know if OR how that is accomplished.

So, in the meantime, either someone else manages to run an experiment
similar to the above; or else, some day, I explore the question in (6.) ...
