Why not? Apart from their size being a disadvantage I still reckon they give a better display. Hard to put into words but more lifelike imo. And still best 'response times'.

Or TFTs without DVI (though i can't really tell the different in quality between a VGA and DVI one just by looking at them)

You on the hooch? I can definitely see a difference. DVI input shows more concise image, sort of 'crisper' and better defined. Of course, that does rely to some extent on graphics card and the monitor itself.
