O' god help you ... Tell me, is that their version of broadband, or dial-up ... and how are you connecting it to your phone. Huston, we have another problem. (Boy, there I go again, being sarcastic ... sorry, it is not directed at you.)

Ok, what is it actually doing when you try and download? Can you download anything? Try just one file.
 
its let me download a few security updates, but nething else it just says file could not be found.... n its the broadband im on
 
Skip it then-- if your copy of XP is legal, contact microsoft and ask for the MS update cds. Just tell them you do not have an internet connection and they should send out the cd free.
