Has any-one got the Nero suite working yet on Vista? The latest version says
its incompatible.

I installed Nero 7 premium and my dvd r/rw stopped working! had to boot from
my vista dvd and do a clean install

I haven't any success. When I tried to install Nero 7 Premium the installer
just kept running and running. I ended up having to kill the process and
then do a system restore to an earlier time because the program would not
uninstall.

Nero 7 is not supported yet. Only Nero 6 has no issues.

You better don't force Nero on your Vista. It'll cause a disaster.

I wouldn't force that piece of junk on any computer. Nero 7 is one of
the buggiest pieces of crap I have seen in a long time.

Tried it on my XP system and it was constantly crashing or refusing to
write etc. Finally gave up on it and went with Roxio's Easy media
Creator 8 which has worked flawlessly from the moment it was
installed.

Sorry you had bad experiences with Nero. I use both Nero and Roxio and at
least Nero hasn't caused my burners to disappear like Roxio 7.5 and 8.0 did.
Nero isn't as easy or friendly as Roxio, but I for one think that it has much
more power and control then with Roxio. However, this is a discussion area
for Vista so lets not waste the space arguing about which program is superior.

If you are asking about a compatible burning software, try Roxio 9, its said
to be fully compatible with 64-Bit Windows.

I have been using 8 on XP Pro x64 since it came out. Hopefully 9 adds Vista
x64 to the list.

I have Roxio 9 installed in Vista x64 and it is working with all the
features even blueray burning

Thanks for the confirmation that 9 works in Vista x64. Time to upgrade to
9! I bet I don't use 1% of that programs features, but the 1% is priceless.

Do you know if Roxio 9 is stated as being compatible with Vista? I just
upgraded to 8 a short time ago (not Vista compatible) and I was hoping they
would issue a patch to make 8 compatible.

Check on the Roxio site? Yes it is.

I would like information on using Nero 7 with Vista RC1. Tried
installing it, and it fails to install.

Set the installer for XP-compatibility, and the installer started, but
errored out.

Any hope for us soon?
