Need WORD Help Very Very Soon

Try this: Make a copy of the .ASD file and change the extension from
.ASD to .DOCX. Then try to open the file in Word.

I was able to open the .ASD file, and the things I can't understand is
What was AutoRecovered was the original document I opened at 5 a.m.
this morning *before* I began the job. Since the job was AutoRecovered
at the exact time I Saved the seven hour-long edit, at 12:05 p.m.,
what should have been AutoRecovered was the edit, not the original
file from 5 in the morning.

I didn't Close without saving (and even if I had done this, wouldn't a
warning message ask if I wanted to Save?). If I saw AutoSave activity
every ten minutes in the Taskbar, and if I saved the document to Word
2003 when I closed, there should be *some* artifact on this new
computer. I mean *something*--right?

I will give up now (and also try to find a forum where people are as
civil as you have been, the next time I have a Word-related problem).
Possibly other posters here have never had such a severe loss of data.
I can't account for the level of hostility. Thank you for your help.

The next time, you should post to a MS Office NG as this had nothing to
do with Vista.

You might try:

microsoft.public.office.misc

or:

microsoft.public.word.newusers

More Word experts there than here.

Penn State will get a call about the theory of economically challenged

Thank you. I'm at the point of asking if I closed the document without
saving, but I'm still wondering why the program wouldn't have asked if
I wanted to do this without saving changes. The data is probably
somewhere on my hard drive. Maybe the folk on that group could tell me
where. Again, thanks.

Anybody that uses MS WM to post to a newsgroup is a clueless moron.

The reason that I ask is because if it is then there is a simple solution
to fix it.

Since you are not willing or do not want to answer me then I am out of
this thread.

What has whether its a trial version or not got to do with it?
