Imagine if we all posted messages with no explanations, just links?
You cannot defend a faulty behavior by saying that only a few do it in
this newsgroup.
Snipping unnecessary parts is the standard behaviour, no need to
indicate that you have done what should be done and what all
responsible people do routinely.
Of course I have snipped unnecessary parts of the message I reply to,
no need to tell you that. And I never snip in a way which
misrepresents what earlier writers have said, I take the significant
part of their messages to show the reader the context.
If you want to know exactly who said what you can count arrows and
look up previous messages.
This is standard practise in usenet.
None of which changes the fact that it is poor netiquette to strip
attributions, and trimming posts without indicating that you've done
so.
You have very dim concepts of netiquette. You are defending the
practise of writing messages which are totally impossible to
understand without looking things up on the web.
That is what we are talking about.
Don't try to change the subject.
