The Mydoom worm that is spreading unchecked across the net does not effect
Macs. Or so I thought. I'm getting lots of mail with attachments, as is
everybody, and these are getting thrown in the trash.

But I'm also getting, from a POP web mail service that I use, lots of
"Failure to deliver message" messages with various reasons stated, about lots
of addresses at this service I don't know. Also, I'm getting some of those
"white-list" confirmations from this same service. None of these messages has
an attachment. They really look authentic.

Yes it's bugger ain't it. I'm getting the little sods for the last 2 weeks,
although it seems to be peetering out to about 50 emails a week now. I used
to get as much as 700 emails with this virus attached. Luckily you can just
bin the messages via Entourage's direct mailbox access icon.

I you're using OS X and Mail, the best program I know of for viewing/deleting
these spam/virus messages directly from your ISP's mailbox, is to use Mail
Beacon X, from Bains Software, at: http://www.bainsware.com/ - costs $10.
Saves you from having to download loads of spam in Mail.
