My Numba 1 PC has stopped working Arrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!

Part of an email from ASUSTek UK

Mr Beetison (thats me)

........After a rather lengthy set of diagnostic tests i am able to say that a rather serious issue of overvoltage on boths sets of Memory that you supplied has occured. This has either been caused by the Voltage Controller in the BIOS becoming faulty of an actual fault with the Memory itself.

.....The latter of the two explanations i provided is more likely as we at ASUSTek have not seen this type of failure on any of the P5 range of our Motherboards....

....I must say i find it rather odd that the Manufacterer of the Memory in this case is not willing to test the product they have supplied, it seems they do not value the everyday Customer as we do.....

...I have been in touch with our Customer Services department and have been informed that you have registered a total of 37 products already this year with ASUS and are a valued V.I.P member.....

....Although the V.I.P status does come with benefits, i believe it was pointed out that a failure of 3rd party components is not covered by our warranty when it causes a failure to one of our products, if this was covered then i'm sure we wouldn't be in business today.

.....However i am concerned for your situation and would like to offer you a solution, as we here at ASUS value our return customers highly and as i mentioned you have registered 30+ products, some from our X Series which are quite costly. So i am able to offer you a replacement Motherboard from our P5 range, i cannot say that it will be the same Motherboard you have returned but it will feature the same spec or very similar. It will not be new, but will be from one of our test beds so there is no worry that it doesn't work. I am also including some Memory, as you can imagine we test a wide variety of Memory to ensure the upmost compatablility with our products, so you will no concerns in the future. We did not recommend many products, but you will find the Memory sent is probably the best on the current market.

I hope this finds you well and that you are pleased.

Well i am very happy thanks!!!!!!

Woohoo i love ASUS.

Yeah am well pleased,

i hope its a good board, although anything is better than nothing i suppose, doesn't say when its going to be dispatched, but oh well, beggars can't be choosers and all that.

that is pretty impressive only took a few days! Well done mate good result.

Now the question is if you were not a VIP member and never registered anything how would you have been treated?

How do I register my new board?

Just go on the ASUS site and there is a link to registering products, you should have a booklet with you r mobo telling you how as well.
