This is just a test; this is not a joke. I'm working on a posting
issue/problem with an online concierge.

If this were an actual message, would it be replied to by an MSDN
managed newsgroups support engineer? If not, why not?

Thanks,

Bill

Apologies - forgot to mention the address of the news server:
msnews.microsoft.com.

Completely free - no logon required...

Again, I AM USING my newsreader pointed at
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp on server msnews.microsoft.com.

See attached.

It is both free AND a managed NG. But in order to get a MS engineer to
reply to your post, you need to post with you're *nospam* alias - which
I am as you can see - however I don't seem to get MS certified replies.

Bill,

This will (or it should be as a private person) not be answered by a MSFT in
the rules of the MSDN subscription.

You have send this message from your own Newsgroup reader.

You need to use the MSDN website, to log on with your live ID and to use the
web newsgroup reader from that MSDN website.

Pete,

Thanks, that was the part I was unsure about, I had read that probably to
often that I thought it was like that.

I have sent a message to an MSFT if he will answer this question in this
newsgroup (or sent it to me, then I past it in).

I've been using TB for some time as my newsreader and, in the past, have
had fairly quick responses from MSFT people.

Thanks,

Bill,

They wrote me they are busy with your problem, I had the idea they would
contact you.

But be aware, 48 hours outside the weekend is a normal response time.

It are managed newsgroups, managing does not mean doing everything yourself.
If there is a correct answer given, then they don't interfere.

In some newsgroups is echoing not wanted behaviour, you saw that in past
very often in this newsgroup, where I always had the idea that some MVP's
seem to have the idea that they had to give the same answer as already was
given.

Check the timestamps on such messages. Very often the other correct replies
haven't yet appeared on the feed when someone starts writing their own
reply.

Ben,

replies haven't yet appeared on the feed when someone starts writing their
own reply.

Do you think I an new to the newsgroups.
In past there were even many persons sending in batch because they had a
switched connection.

:-)

But certainly not in this newsgroup. A guy from Reading in England gave me
often earlier a reply then that I had send my message in a newsgroup where
he and I were the most active ones.

:-)

Pete,

I have send this message in my time CET system at 8.03 your reply shows up
at 8.39.

As an advice, I had the problem you describe in past too.
Simply connect to Microsoft the Microsoft News Server direct, the public
part is completely open, your provider does the same.

Server
msnews.microsoft.com

By the way, I was not writing "some" in any way, as there is lag, then it is
not about one newsgroup but it is about all.

As you reread the thread then it is about a way of echoing that was done in
past very often in this newsgroup.
Luckily that is over or you can see by the send time that it is done
unintentional like happens as well in other newsgroups.

However, please pay attention that you don't snipe in a way that a messages
of somebody gets a complete different intention for those not knowing what
was more written. That is why I don't like that retro way of snipped
newsgroup behaviour (But that is my personal opinion). This happens often
while it is not the intention of those who do the sniping (what I assume in
this case too)

I was writing in this context not about lag in this newsgroup. I was writing
about the behaviour of the community of this newsgroup in past.
