Hi Spooky Ghost ,
You say : " And I'll tell him * how * ... :-) "

Tell me how ? I already knew how to do it .

But _ Ten _ times I said that I would _ Not _ compile it .

Because the code is too stupid ,
I don't compile worthless code .

I don't know how to make this any clearer .

Jeff was once a young programmer.
He'd stay up late nights, linking, compiling.
But now, give him a simple piece of code,
and he can't do it.

The first time her told her 'Honey, this has
never happened before, you know how I always
link.'

Jeff, it's over, your linker is limp, your
compiler is pooped, probably the only thing
that gives you pleasure is your debugger...

Hi Jay Bailo ,
You say : " Jeff , it's over , your linker is limp "

Oh no ... Not my linker ! ... How will I dink her ?

You say :
" Your compiler is pooped,

Thou shalt not bugger thy neighbor .
( Actually the U.S. supreme court recently legalized that )

I recall they days when I used to bugger my girl friends . :D
( Sometimes I'd alternate between the two " Ports " too ,
I never used condoms . )

I break into a song :
_ Those Were the Days _ , _ All in the Family _ Theme .
( As sung by Archie And Edith Bunker . )
from
Boy , the way Glenn Miller played !
Songs that made the Hit Parade .
Guys like us ... we had it made .
Those were the days !

And you knew where you were then .
Girls were girls ... and men were men .
Mister , we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again .

Didn't need no welfare state .
Everybody pulled his weight .
Gee , our old LaSalle ran great .
Those were the days !

Hi Spooky Ghost ,
Are you going to be out haunting tomorrow ? ( Halloween )

You say :
" For example ,
I could compute pi to 10,000 places for some reason . "

Yuck ! That's just a bad as reversing a string .

You say :
" Or simulate a daisy-cutter dropping on Saddam's head . "

Hmmm ... That sounds interesting .

Could you make it John Baiiiilo's head instead ?

I need lot's of blood and ( Al ) gore too .

If you can't do the easy stuff...

how can you do the hard stuff

( or sorry, I didn't mean to say
the word 'hard' around you -- with
your *condition* and all )...

Does inflatable plastic constitute a 'girlfriend' ?

Just hope to God you cleaned it
when you were done...

well -- i guess in the looney bin
all is possible...

Hi J. Ba Ba Bailo ,
You say :
" well -- I guess in the looney bin all is possible ... "

Damn straight ! ... Or maybe I should say " Damn kinky ! "

Hi B. Bailo ,
You say :

What " Condition " ?

Except for my brain , everything works perfectly .

speaking of Kinks (and the new Bowie re-mix):

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise....

Every day, I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Terry meets julie, waterloo station
Every friday night
But I am so lazy, don't want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I don't feel afraid
As long as I gaze on waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine

Millions of people swarming like flies
'round waterloo underground
But terry and julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And they don't need no friends
As long as they gaze on
waterloo sunset
They are in paradise

Waterloo sunset's fine.

Can you grab a clue

GIVE IT UP !!!

NOBODY'S BUYING IT RELF

IF YOU CAN'T COMPILE A SIMPLE G++ PROGRAM

THEN YOU AIN'T GOT THE MOJO ANY MORE !!!!!

Wasn't planning to. :-)
You say :
" For example ,
I could compute pi to 10,000 places for some reason . "

Yuck ! That's just a bad as reversing a string .

So suggest something more useful. :-) I've got snippets
of this that and the other, and could cobble up
idiotic things in a pinch using Glade. Mind you,
putting intelligence into them might be the
tough part.
You say :
" Or simulate a daisy-cutter dropping on Saddam's head . "

Sicko. :-P But I could compromise: how about Osama? :-)
Instead of a moustache I could draw a turban and beard...

Hi Spooky Ghost ,
You ask : " How about Osama ? :-) "

Ok . How much of the code do you have now ?

Are you using the GNU libraries ?

Not a heck of a lot. I'd have to figure out how to animate using
GTK, and then figure out the interface. It wouldn't be a difficult
interface: "Press Button To Drop Bomb On Osama Bin Laden". :-)
jbailo's done most of the work for me, in fact.

(I'd use xfig to draw Osama, and then do something intelligent
with the coordinates. Or I could nab the data from XEarth (which
somewhere has to have a 3-D representation of the continents)
and try something with that. I am not an expert graphics
artist. :-) )

Ideally, I'd be able to cross-compile it using Mingw32 so that
I'd have both Linux and Windows executables.
Are you using the GNU libraries ?

I would surmise GTK is Gnu-based.

Hi Spooky ,
You say : " Not a heck of a lot [ is done already ] . "

I won't be holding my breath then .

Hi Spooky ,
You say : " Heh . Rome wasn't build in a day ... :-) "

Yea , And it better equal the grandeur of Rome too ! :D

(3) San Francisco

Answer (ROT13):

Hi Be Low , You say :
" Rome , Seattle , San Francisco
were all built on seven hills . "

No wonder I like those cities ... I love hills .
