Dick, I have had this same problem with IE7. I have a working movie maker
2.1 on an HP media center edition. What I did was go to the control panel
and uninstall the updates placed on IE7 one at a time by clicking on the box
in add/remove programs that says show updates. Then I uninstalled IE7. Once
IE6 is reinstalled, and you have restarted your computer. Then go to:
Start, Run and type %systemroot%/inf in the box and click OK.
Next find moviemk.inf (it will look like a file icon with a gear on it)
Right click on moviemk.inf and click on install.
There will be a system intall feedback window on your screen.
If it cannot find the files. In the dialog box click on BROWSE.
Then go to your C: drive then click on the windows folder, then I386.
Click on the file highlighted that says MOVIEMK and then click on OK.
The instillation should complete. Restart windows.
At this point if it does not still work then reinstall the .dll files like
on the papajohns web page and it should work.
%systemroot%/inf right click and install on ie.inf will help you reinstall
IE6 also in the same way from the I386 folder if necessary, but you will have
to reinstall the updates to ie6.
Hope this helps.
Dont use a registry editor in any of these steps.
