Hi Barb,
Well I guess I've missed something in one of these threads.
What is the exact error message you are getting?

I do have Picture It as one of my choices in Open With. But when I select
it
I get that error.

OK I think I understand better now what you are trying to do.
Let try this.....
Do a search for any jpg file, doesn't matter where it's at. Once found
right click it and select Open With. If you do not see "Picture It"
listed
in the context menu then select the "Choose Program" button. Do you see
"Picture It" listed anywhere there? and if you do select it then also
check
the box at the bottom to "Always use the selected program to open this
kind
of file".

I'm sorry I sent to soon before without answering all your questions.
!st I was trying to find the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Barb\My
Documents/My Pictures\8-12-2006.JPG or a Picture It folder in that
file,
but
I guess the folder doesn't matter because the other photo programs I
have
are
not there and they work fine.
I got off on a different subject with the driver cdudf_xp, because one
of
your people asked me about errors I was getting in the event viewer.
I'm
still getting that error, but I guess it's associated with Easy Creator
7
and
I Have Roxio Easy Creator 9.
The main reason for my writing is I wanted to be able to use Picture It
was
my default program for pictures. It has always worked in the past, but
I
did
something to mess it up. Right now they open with Windows picture and
fax
viewer.
I also have Nero 7 and Easy Media Creator 9.
Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Barb,
Let start over here if we may.....
In one message you said.......
"I get the error when I try to open pictures with Microsoft Picture It
2001"
What Error are you getting?
In another message you said..........
"Please help me locate this file."
What file are you looking for?
Another message you said.......
I located the driver cdudf_xp and restored it.
This file is for Roxio, why did you replace it?
Please answer all questions.

Hi,
I went into Windows Explorer. The only files that were there was an
Adobe
and a desktop.ini
Barb
:
Hi Barb,
OK then that tells me you are logged in as Barb, so the path is
C:\Documents
and Settings\Barb\My Documents\My Pictures
You should now open Explorer and look for...
Local Disk C:
Documents and Settings
Barb
My Documents
My Pictures
Click on My Pictures, in the right hand pane, what do you see?
All the best,
SG
SG,
Under the start, logoff is Barb. The path was C:\Documents and
Settings\Barb\My Documents\My Pictures
Thank you,
Barb

Barb,
You said: " The only files that were there was an Adobe and a
desktop.ini
file."
What Path did you find these two files found in?
BTW, if you select Start and at the bottom where it says Log
Off,
what
name
is listed there, User or something else?
All the best,
SG
HTH,
I did that and no change. I also restarted my computer. I
thinking
this
has
to be a Microsoft Picture It problem, because the error I'm
getting
is
from
Picture It. But now the error message has the right format of
c:\
now.
No new event errors.
Do you know anything about Picture It?
Barb
:
:
Please help me locate this file. I did a search of my
computer
and
found
nothing.
Thank you,
Barb
Have you tried c:\ instead of c:/
Regards
Bill
:
Yes. The only files that were there was an Adobe and a
desktop.ini
file.
Yesterday I searched the internet for help and found a
suggestion
that
the
.ini file might be missing information. So I compared the 2
and
in
fact
it
was missing [email protected],-28997. So I
added
that
to the
file hoping that would help, but no change.
The error I get is with c:/
Thank you for responding,
