I just had a conversation altering _NEW_ revelation while checking an answer
to your questions.

Days ago:

After the burner kicked the CD out I pushed it back in, shut off the burner
software and went to Mycomputer, which showed the CD to be empty, right?
Burner failure, right?

Minutes ago:

1. I rebooted with one of those empty CD's in the drive.

2. Lo and behold it booted the ISO I had intended to put on it. So it IS on
it even though Mycomputer (Explorer) says it's empty.

3. I don't know how Mycomputer misses what's on a boot CD. Maybe the burner
doesn't READ a CD right, even though I watched a couple DVD movies on it.

4. Apparently the thing works to some extent, but I think a replacement is
still due.

5. Got glitches after all!

Thanks.

That's the problem with people getting all wound up about how questions are
asked and where. People keep bitching because questions aren't asked
expertly. If I were an expert I wouldn't be asking questions on issues
other people think are easy.

How the @#$%^&^@#$% do I know if I have a "programming obstacle using the
API?"

Someone suggested I look at Event Viewer. In Event Viewer I saw that IMAPI
turned on then turned off. I went on and observed other IMAPI behaviors.
Normal or abnormal? How should I know? I ask questions - however I can.

YOU were the one that said you posted in another newsgroup about your
problem that wasn't identified here. I tried to find your post but
nothing in the other group look like a viable candidate. I did spend
time trying to find out what you said was a problem but refused to
describe here.

Obviously you do NOT want help with your problem from the newsgroups.
Okay, but perhaps you should have made that point very clear and up
front. Usually when folks ask for help to contact Microsoft, their
problem might have a solution available more cheaply or even free but
they would actually have to divulge their problem.

As per your original post for this thread, your question has been
answered. You are not interested in anyone here looking at your problem
(whether it be me or someone else). This isn't a newsgroup dedicated to
helping posters find contacts at Microsoft. This is Usenet and
typically your question would go here.

Have it your way. Enjoy paying for Microsoft's support (but which I
don't see why you would've bothered anyone here about your topic since
even you could've found out how to contact them as long as you're
willing to pay for the support). Enjoy.

--- Posting Hints ---

ALWAYS REVIEW your message before submitting it. You want someone OTHER
than yourself to understand your post. Also remember that no one here
is looking over your shoulder to see at what you are pointing.

Often you get just one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply
from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go
on (no details, no versions, no OS, no context) then they will usually
move on to the next post and never return to yours.

What is Usenet:

If you use a webnews client, like Microsoft's Communities or Google
Groups, those are gateways to Usenet.

Certainly can't hurt! Worst case you end up with two fully functional
optical drives, which can also be handy<g>. Best case, the replacement
will work 'cause the old one was bad.

Actually the old one is apparently about half bad. I consider that worse
than totally toasted.

Thanks
