When the first time Bee Gees was mentioned on this thread the song that came to my mind was from Cucumber Castle, but, I could not remember the track title, "First of May" it is and yes it is a beautiful song. Thanks for putting it in the thread. :)

There are many others, which as you rightly say impressive but very few that tinker with the soul, another one I remember way back in the 70's was "Without You" by none other than Harry Nillson which goes like....
