You both must be as old as me.

LOL I doubt that the limbo would be a possibility for Ken and I without
raising the bar at least a few more feet (or meters as it were).

Finally got it. Must raise the task bar to triple height. Double
height only
shows day and time. Triple will show day, date, year and time. I
confess, I
never raised task bar to triple height before.

Yes, *triple* height. Sorry for saying double-height. And thanks
Harry, for correcting what I said.

Expand the taskbar upward to at least triple height and you should
see the
time date displayed like this

How can we do either or both???????
message
A long time ago? Was it Windows XP? I do not think XP ever had
that
option.

It always did and still does. Try it for yourself--make the task
bar
double-height.

Why he can no longer do it, I don't know.

Instead, the year and date are displayed momentarily via a bubble
when
the
mouse pointer goes over the time.

Yes, but that's not "instead" of the above. You can do either or
both.

I do believe Windows 95 had that feature.

A long time ago I noticed that if the taskbar is raised to
double or
triple
height, then the full date is displayed in the systray clock.
Somehow
I
have lost this, now it displays only the time and day of the
week, it
no
longer shows the month and year. How to get it back?

I don't know about you, but I know it would have to be at least 5'8"
high for me. ;-)

In my case, probably older. I'll be 70 in November.

I'm just a kid at 53 in 2 more days. While I can still kick well above my
head (I'm 6'2") I don't bend over backwards for anyone ;-)

It doesn't need to go to triple-height. It depends upon your screen
resolution as much as the height... I've got double-height and still get
all three lines of info. Of course, it MAY also depend upon the "text size"
you have set also...

Ken with many people now living to well over 100 years of age 70 is the new
40. Look at guys like Michael Douglas or better yet check out his wife!!!

LOL! I know I'm easy to beat by height, but not many folks here are
older than I am.

I think I'm in pretty good shape for my age; I don't feel like I'm 70,
but I sure don't feel the way I did when I was 40 either.

But I sure hope you turn out to be right!

I'll bet not one of us can do the limbo!

My task bar is double height. I can lower it to nothing, but can't make it display just a single line.

Don't know why it changed, just one day, voila, there it was and it's driving me nuts. Any help out there?

Right-click on the task bar.
In the contextual menu, look if the task bar is locked.
If it is, uncheck the lock.

Now you can resize the task bar (the mouse pointer changes
into a double arrow when you move it to the edge of the bar).

You might want to re-lock the task bar when you're done.

Put all the toolbars on a single line, then resize it.
