keeping computer on 2/24

don't compare your
system of 8 computers
with those who can't
configure or figure out
an isp connection on
1 computer.

further, unless you
have battery backup
power, you will loose
power and one of the
registries will go to
crap. that is if you are
telling us the truth and
not making up a fantasy.

8 computers on a
network at home,
huh?

never had a problem,
huh?

seems your full of it.

well if you turn them
off and allow the system
to complete the shut down
and reboot process, then
they can't be running
24/7/365 then.

o.p said 24/7.

why would you think
power options are
being used on a computer
running 24/7?

you should ask the
question to the o.p.
then you might do a
followup question if
there is one, is it
cofigured.

an improperly connected
and configured ups will
provide only surge protection.

You're right. My apologies, Bill.

if all you machines are
doing nothing, then it
is absolutely pointless
to have them running
all day and night, unless
your bs'g.

doesn't your country care
about wasting electricity?

don't you care about wear
and tear by on the machines?

perhaps, you don't because
the costs are not yours to
worry about.

further, regardless of your
belief that windows is
flawless, the registry, the
disk, etc can and will crash
in due time either as a result
of power loss or not.

and regardless of what your
beleif is on the state of your
own system, unless you can
"gaurantee" that nothing can
go wrong for other people than
all possibilities must be
considered and not minimalized
like you are attempting.

however, you welcome to
debate microsoft's response
to event id 6008.

obviously you are smarter
than they are.

not interested in whether
or not the op has a power
backup. it is not the issue
at hand.

not concerned whether
the firewalls or avs are
configured as well. if the
system gets hacked in
because the av's are not
configured properly, is
not the issue at hand.

my concern and response
is based on whether leaving
the pc on 24/7 was a good
idea. which is not, for a
number of reasons.

in fact leaving it on 24/7
simply to avoid the hassle
of an internet connection is
not a good reason, for a
number of reasons.

still using a computer
from the late 70's, huh?

not worth anything
except to a museum
or a junk yard.

honestly, you are so
full of it.

no wonder pcbutts
has issues with you.

need to stop hearing
your chit

and move on to another
chat.

btw: don't troll upon
my responses again,
unless you want me
to do the same to u
and ur's.

He's ALWAYS rude, period.

Are you always this rude when you've been caught being stupid?

so you still use a computer
from the 70's and you wrote
code and built hardware
back then? hilarious!

i doubt seriously that you were
a code writer from the 70's simply
because you are clearly not
mature enough or intellectually
inclined.

it's also interesting but not
surprisingly as how you made
the thread about yourself
instead of the o.p.

again, you are full of it so
stop taking it as a compliment.

obviously, you are having a
hard time understanding that
you are transparent and
delusional.

btw:

we all know what kind
of a crapper you are from
the multitudes of postings
between you and pcbutts
throughout the newsgroup
world.

so my suggestion is to
look for someone else
that believes in your
bs or stop trolling.

for my part, i'll stop wasting
time on chitters like you by
placing you on my troll killfile.

Just to change the subject, I've always wondered why you truncate your
message lines?

Bill

He uses an iPod for text messaging? Or maybe it was a VIC-20. (I
can't recall what he said).
