K8V and WD SATA 120 GB drive---No HD Led light except with BOOT?

When I connect my SATA drive to the VIA Southbridge SATA controller,
then the IDE HD activity LED does not work at all.

I've already sent a complaint to Asus about this, and they confirmed
this problem. Since this problem can be fixed with a bios update, I
would like to ask everybody to sent a complaint to Asus technical
department.

Untill Asus fixes this bug, I would not recommend people to buy this
board.

I have the same problem with a KV8 delux board. I am running the
latest bios on there web site for it . I have seen other posts in the
group that it will need a board revison and not just a bios fix. If
anyone hear anything please post here.
 
Maybe I was happy to soon.....
In the FAQ on the Italian site (I wasn't able to find this FAQ myself,
how did you find it ??), they said they would fix it with a new
revision. (I guess PCB revision)

That would mean: no bios fix for my V1.12 PCB. Damn......
 
I have the same MB etc and 2 WD drives in a raid 0 set up and I
noticed the same problem no HD activity light. Is the a fix for this .
Is there a file or something that can be down loaded from the ASUS
site.

Not likely since this is more of a hardware design oversight.
