I never could see the appeal in those things... But as a gadget freak, I have bought things and later either wondered why I bought it, or marvel at just how cheap they make stuff for today... I have an old walkman that I bought years ago that cost me just over £100, my DVD player (single region and had to be chipped) over £290 all my early hi-fi gear (censored) ... but... and this is the big BUT.... I still have all of them. they all still work 100% and have never once failed. (actually.. an led indicator lamp went in one of the amp switches) When I think about it, £100 10 years ago is really not far in monetary terms from what kids (or thier parents) today are paying for thier MP3 players, so I can see some comparisons...
As I have to get back out walking (for health reasons) I take my trusty CD walkman with me, and as my walks are only an hour, I only need an hours worth of music.. and i still wonder why people need 1000 songs at one time... and how many have actually sat through that many songs in one go. (I make that about 50 hours?) any way... iPod nano? nano thanks....
(I'll leave the Mork & Mindy jokes for somebody else)
