Internet / browser / software problem

Hey im getting this exact problem too, i have an antivirus installed called Panda software 2004 im using windows XP professional with SP1 installed, i just recently reformatted too, i was wondering maybe if i disabled the windows XP firewall, it might work?? But i dont know how so can someone teach me how?

To disable the windows firewall, go to control panel and then network connections. On the connection that you have firewalled, right click, properties then the last tab in the new window is the firewall one. Then untick the box to disable.

Give it a go.

If I download this google toolbar that you recommend will this stop all of the pop ups??

WHOA 'ang on ... If you only have one Firewall, then don't disable it.

Hyori ... XPs firewall will NOT cause "page cannot be displayed" syndrome, however, NIS has ... I still do not know if Symantec have "remedied" the problem, but if you do not have any firewall you are putting your system at grave risk. Look elsewhere for the cause. Start your own thread, we'll be able to help you better. ;)

mojouk ... no, not all, but it will do a dam good job of stopping 85-95%
