Yeah! My trick around PCMag is to find the *.exe or *.zip name listed
in the dl filepath by positioning the mouse pointer over the dl
filepath link (in this case "inctrl5c.exe") and then google for that.
One often finds listings for the same app in plenty of other places!

Very true, but I always find a copy if one exists. You get to
recognize which are the URLs that re-direct. I always just mouseover
the URL of all results. Also, you get to recognize sites that carry
their own versions rather than just a link. In such cases, though
they might _advertise_ and old copy, DLExpert gets a re-direct URL.
Again, it's something you get a feel for.

I guess it's because FTP sites haven't often come up at all often in
the stuff I'm searching for. Fortunately, the above works for me.
That's how just yesterday I found an old GNMIDI version (midi-joiner).
And I found it on only the 2nd or 3rd URL listed!
freeware please post. I usually use the All-the-Web search engine's FTP
search to find files.
