Iiyama 454 screen position??

well you are just lucky - my first one had to be swapped out!

you should try out another make - my friend got an "AG Neovo" 17" TFT and the picture quality is really quite good - 15ms response i think too, black and gray - sleek lookin, £235 roughly

Hmmm, I aggree with Flops, Iiyama build good quality and reliable monitors.

I've been using Iiyama monitors for about 2 years now for my "Customers" ... have yet to hear from any of them. :D

I have just bought a Iiyama 454 and am having certain problems with screen shape and position. I am running with a resolution of 1600x1200. Can anyone tell me the settings they have for pincushion/trapazium(if thats correct) at 1600x1200. For the life of me, I cannot get the monitor to be a perfect square shape, thankyou.

You may, or may not be aware, that the 454 has a dot-pitch of 0.25 at the centre but only 0.27 at the edges. Manufactures are also fond of quoting/boasting high specifications that their product can/should achieve.

However, when it comes to a monitor there are other factors that need to be taken into consideration. One is your graphics card, the other is the drivers.

17”/19” Monitors are traditionally designed to work best at 1028 x 768 @ a refresh of 75Hz

I could set my Sony 17” to 100Hz but my Iiyama VM 455 @ 100 becomes a little harder on the eyes, I therefore set it to 85Hz. This is not too much of a problem as I personally find anything over 75Hz acceptable to my eyes.

If I try to ‘push it’, to say, 1600 x 1200 I then find it very unacceptable. Try lowering the resolution down a notch or two.

What graphics card are you using?

PS
It’s better to start your own thread than jump into someone else’s, even if it is relevant or not.

I agree with Mucks.

My 454's at 1280 x 1024 @ 85Hz.

No distortion round the edges, nice small icons, no flicker and very sharp.

Using a 9800 Pro with latest ATI drivers V4.12.

I'd suggest lowering the res a little, as Mucks says.

I am using an ATI Radeon X800 pro. Thankyou for the replies guys and I'll try working in a lower resolution. I wanted to work in 1600X1200 for graphic design, I'll learn to live with a lower resolution I suppose :).

P.S Sorry about posting in someone else's thread.

EDIT
I have switched to 1280x1024 and I still have problems with the shape. I have tryed fiddling with the settings such as pin, cushing but, I cannot get them right. If I may ask, Does anyone know the default settings for pin cushing and famaliar settings? or give me your settings, it's irrating, the screen is curved.

Thankyou
