Got the 454 afew weeks ago and am very impressed with it.

I am running it at 1280x1024 @ 85hz.

I have noticed only one thing bad so far, and its bugging the hell out of me!

Everytime the computer is shutdown or the resolution changes for gameplay, when i return to windows, the screen has moved. I try and stretch it to fit the whole screen, and upon returning to windows it will move slightly left/right, up/down, which is enough so that not all is visible and end up moving it again.

Am i right to assume that the position will 'lock' when moved?

Any help is much appreciated.

You are using the "correct" monitor drivers (support/downloads) ... arn't you?

As a note, I have the 455, pleased as punch with it. :D

i have the correct drivers for mine - its the HM903DT/B model number and it still does it occasionly. Sometimes when i turn my monitor on the whole picture is squeezed (like reduced) to like just 3/4 of the screen. Turn it off then on again and it works fine.

I am at 1280x1024 at 120 Hz

120 is "overkill" reduce it to 100

The "Standard" display mode for 17/19" is 1024x768 @ 85Hz ... if you want to "push" the limits, its up to you, after all you do get 3years OSW. ;)

I dont have a "problem" with my 455 ... I have a problem with my eyes :D and I still like 1024 x 768 @ 100 ... it's just right for me. :p

Yup, monitor drivers are correct. I will revert to 1024 x 768 for a few days and see if i notice a difference, but with the specs of this monitor, i shouldn't need to.

BTW, i'm only noticing slight changes in position, not the "3/4 squeeze" that Chris is experiencing. That sounds like a much more of a problem than an annoyance.

i get that problem at most onece a week.

I does shift a little left or a little right more occasionally.

It changes when you change your refresh rate too...

Thats the annoying thing about it. You set the position, play a game, quit the game and its moved slightly again.

I think that happens to every monitor, i have to set my Hitachi CM752ET 19" monitor when i change my refresh rate, also i have to do the same with my Dell 17" monitor.

that is undoubtedly the best thing about TFT monitors though - no faffing about with screen positions or anything like that...

...CRT's do however whoop TFT ass when it comes to quality. ESPECIALLY the high end iiyama ones - high resolutions, high refresh rates and improved brightness.

Generally if you set your game to run at the resolution of your desktop you dont have any problems - or so i found.

Btw 120Hz at 1280x1024 i understand is perfectly within its limits - correct driver installed and it allows me to have it as an option. I figured it would be better for my eyes than 85Hz (or even 60Hz like my previous monitor!!)

Hi, i have this iiyamaVM Pro 454 (hm903dt B) i enhance the b as i cant find a driver for this model, only for hm903dta, can anyone help with this please? i have the same prob with the monitor changing position 'up/down /left/righ' it does it all with me, it also does the '3/4 screen size' with me aswell, this is very annoying, paid 250 for this monitor and its nothing but a real pain, went all out on the graphics aswell, radeon 9800 pro (128mb) excallibur ice-q platinum. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you in advance

Thank you for the quick reply, i searched there but there only seems to be the drivers for hm903dta for some reason :S

How odd. I have a 454 and the model number on the front sticker is HM903DT, no 'a' or 'b' there.

Have you tried that driver?

ATM its using iiyama HM903D A/DT A, i just thought that if my monitor was HM903DT B then i should be using driver HM903DT B to be getting the most performance out of it, its all a bit wierd lol

you will find that the two monitors are c o m p l e t e l y identical in every way. I had the A version then had it swapped for the B version when it broke. The only reason iiyama give it the suffix A or B is to make it sound newer haha. I asked customer services this on the phone.

I am using the A drivers - work just fine.

there is N O physical difference between the two versions.

Since i originally posted this, the movement has 'calmed' down a bit. I have resized the screen so it is only slightly smaller, and it appears not to move off the edge.

Happy again now:) I really like this monitor

Mine occasionally moves about a bit - seems its a common error.
Just have to put it back manually.
Still, a shame for a £250 CRT monitor.

OK, just to chime in...

I have a 454 and a 514 and I've never, ever, exerienced any of the probs outlined in this thread. Both of mine have been rock steady since day one.

I like Iiyama, good quality image they give, but their TFT models seem expensive compared to others and only have a 25ms response time. If ever I go TFT I'm wondering whether I'll stick with Iiyama or not.
