A customer of mine is getting the following error message
when accessing his Bank of Montreal web site using IE 6 on
a Win98SE OS. When he selects the public site -
everything is find, but as soon as he clicks the link to
go to the log-in page to his account (https://) - gets the
following message - "c:\program file\internet
explorer\iexplore.exe (abnormal program termination)" and
some further info about C++ errors...

I have other systems configured in the same manner with no
problems. The customer has ad-aware installed. I suspect
it may be adaware interfering or a virus/key logger app
causing a problem. Before I go and start running a host
of tests - any other experiences and solutions like this
one?

Download these programs. Install Ad-aware & SpyBot S&D then download the latest
signature files for each application before running a disk scan.

Ad-aware is a free multi spyware removal utility that scans your memory,
registry and hard drives for known spyware and scumware components and lets you
remove them safely. It is updated frequently.

SpyBot Search and Destroy : The much anticipated version 1.0 of the application
that searches your system for so-called spyware, adware and similar threats to
your privacy and security. If such threats are found, it can give you some
information about the interloper and remove it from your system; creating a
backup beforehand.

Think of BHODemon as a guardian for your Internet browser: it protects you from
unknown Browser Helper Objects (BHOs), by letting you enable/disable them
individually. BHODemon is free, runs in the "tray" area, and works on Windows
95 or later operating systems.
