Hi Andre,

We are all here to share knowledge and to help eachother, and I don't
believe someone would deliberately give the wrong information.
You might disagree with a certain point of view, and it is even a good
thing! Remember we are here to discuss things in a way we can all profit
from

I beg to differ, Linux is not good at Multimedia, as an Office desktop, if
it were a majority of businesses would be using it instead of Windows.

Hi,

Well, it isn't that linear. Both OSes have their strenghts and their
weaknesses. I use and like them both, and they are VERY different in
nature. One isn't better than the other - they are simply different, and
both good at what they're supposed to do. There isn't a better OS - just a
better OS for a given job. What is good for one thing can be bad for
another.

I really shouldn't have done, and I apologise for that, and of course, I'll
make my posts clearer if you don't jump to conclusions too fast :o)

ok, I apologize, but Zack needs to practice what he preaches, no need to

corrections, Zack didn't have to tell me to shutup.

The word can hit sensitive people kinda hard. Lying says the person
deliberately tried to skew the truth to something else that they know is
not
true. Often, what really happens is the person doesn't get their facts
straight or makes a mistake or, even, is misunderstood. That doesn't make
them a liar.

Nope, Linux can be just as good as Windows on Multimedia and Office
desktop - you just have to know how to install it.
And that's why I believe it isn't ready for the masses yet - because most
people do not know how to install or configure it. People don't even know
what version of Windows they have installed, let alone the version of the
Linux kernel they have, or even if they're running Gnome or KDE.
I also don't believe it ends up being much cheaper than Windows for most
companies, seeing that they buy support from the Linux vendors.

As I had said, it's up to every user to decide what's best for him/her.
