Ian Cunningham is 25 today!

OK, pics as promised! Also a note that I didn't go out specifically wearing a pilots jacket, it's just the warmest thing I have

It started out so well:

1st landing wasn't quite as smooth:

...5 mins later....

That aircraft was well and truely stuck, I can tell you! It was about 10 meters up, and it was starting to snow. It took just under 1.5 hours to get it down  We managed to knock it down to about 7 meters after chucking enough small logs at it, then managed to knock it down after climbing up the big trunks using a 3 meter pole from the park warden.

Moral of the day... fly model aircraft where there are no trees at all!

lol and that from an aviation expert lol

The aircraft took ages to get down, and we chucked as many sticks as we could find at it. I'd already tried climbing up it, but as you can see the branches are pretty weedy at the top. Another guy walking past with his dog saw this and came to help, so between us we managed to get it :thumb: Was really good of him as he spend almost half an hour helping, and we got it down in reasonable condition. Top bloke

Just got back from a meal out and had a bit to drink - so I'm sure my spelling won't be up to much ;)

so Ian was 16 when it all started ..?

The PCR domain is from Sept 1999, so it's just shy of 10 years - so I would have been 15 at the time, but I've had a site for a few years before that hosted on a BTInternet free domain. Boy, does time fly! I'm an old man now in internet years

BTW, if anyone has PC Format issues from 1998 please let me know, as the site was in a column on there with the title "one hit wonder" :D.

Nice pics.:thumb:
Bit surprised you did not choose somewhere more "open" and with out large trees ion the way!
Well you do look dressed for the part, pair of flying goggles & you would have been Biggles!!!

Unfortunetely that's the largest open area nearby without many people using them at the time - the 1st pic is me standing on the edge of it, thowing the aircraft into the wind. The trees in the 2nd pic were the only ones in the middle of the park, but you can imagine what happened ;) You are right though, I'm going to have to find a field in the middle of nowhere, where the only thing I need to avoid it cow poo

I`m a bit late with my wishes to you Ian but never the less better late than never.

Have a great time, this your quarter cent` HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
