With the HP (and most other laser printers these days) the cartridge
includes a good portion of the guts of the printer mechanism.
It includes, the drum, wiper blade, magnetic or static roller, toner
storage, toner, waste toner storage, etc. So replacement of the
cartridge exchanges quite a bit (well, you pay for that convenience).
