You're right. Need to clarify this FAT/NTFS thing. WinX's (95-ME)
installed on FAT's cannot see NTFS unless you use some 3rd party utility
such as NTFS98PRO.
WinNT's (2k & UP) can see everything no matter which file allocation
(FAT32/NTFS) they're installed on.
I think the above is correct...correct?
Frank

Yes, that's correct.

Very interesting. I was, in fact, flat wrong, then, and Richard hadn't
misunderstood me, after all. Thank you, guys, for updating my
understanding of this issue.

Well, Richard, I was initially *sure* I was right about this, but turns
out I was just marching along still carrying "Truth" that hadn't been
true since Windows' dark ages. Fortunately, you came along to stick out
your foot and send me sprawling on my face. Ouch. Painful, but necessary
now and then. Thanks for setting me straight. ;)

Daze,

Didn't do it to humiliate you. In fact, I can be wrong also.

It was a good exercise for me to install as a virtual machine to retest. I
have been using 3-4 100% NTFS drives in each of my computers for about 5
years now and I thought that I may have remembered it wrong.

We learn from each other here. It is as these groups were meant to be.

You just stated the facts as you knew them, without putting me down at
all (or even really calling me wrong), which I appreciate. I didn't mean
to sound like I might be suggesting otherwise.

Double-checking what one thinks one knows can be a good exercise sometimes.

And that's exactly why I'm here. :)
