No, you would be wrong, I didn't say it was burning, I said the term
"burning an image" is a standard industry phrase, obviously you haven't
been around computers for long.

You cannot BURN to something that does not exist.
You creat an ISO
you create a file
you create a folder
On Windows you create/make a DVD or CD using a DVD or CD and the DVD/CD
writer Burns the data onto the disk by heating up the INK on the surface.
So there you have it....
IF it is NOT a "real"DVD or CD as in disk then HOW can you BURN?

(CD-Recordable) A writable CD technology using a type of compact disc that
can be recorded, but not erased (CD-Rs are "write once" discs). CD-R discs
are used to master CD-ROMs, to back up data and to make copies of data for
distribution. "Burning" a CD-R requires a CD-R drive, CD-RW drive or a combo
CD/DVD drive. CD-R discs can be read on most every type of CD drive,
including older CD-ROM units.
