Any 56k'ers still about? ;) My ADSL connection went a bit wonky today, so the "backup" 56k line connected when I tried to use the internet... took me a few mins to realise why it was going so slow!

Made me realise how much faster broadband really is... and I'm only on 1MB. I know some of you here are on 8MB+!

Me on 512K up, 256K down.

ISP gives me all I want though, no limits, no contention etc etc. so I'm sticking with it.

It would cost me another fiver a month to go to 1K down but I figure I don't really need it, I do big downloads overnight and all gaming is fine :)

im on 2mb but it is networked between 3 computeres and when all three are on and espesciallyh when one is gaming it is incredibly SLOW:(

2Mb Connection
2048Kb/ps (2Mb) Down, 256Kb/ps Up

30:1 contention (premier service)

No limits, £21.99 Plusnet

My nan has dial up. Its painful because she needs tinternet but not enough to justify ADSL.

same, although there is a limit to the downloading (someone didn't read the T&C's properly ;)) 100GB off peak or 30GB peak and you get a warning email and a severe speed cap

so far i've racked up 14GB in 10 days

Those are pretty big limits thankfully :) Mine is "unlimited" too - but there is a reasonable use clause. As long as its not maxed out 24/7 I dont think they mind much.

Tempted to go for UK online's £29.99 22MB unlimited when I move flats in a couple of months, as it would be handy for downloading site backups.

1MB Unlimited £17.99 NTL ...will have to change soon ...never realised how fast they change ;)

4MB Down / 384Kb Up Unlimited with Telewest Blueyonder :thumb:

unlimited 22Mb for £29.99

how fast?

2MB, free upgrade from 512K on Virgin.Net, 6GB max Download @ £17.99:D
Have never got close to limit, The set-up was very easy, infact fool proof, customer support very good:thumb:
Do you use 56K for Test PC, but only as i'm to lazy to go wireless:o

£15 per 1.25 GB at 144k download:D BUT, I still manage everything;)

10Mb

1.2MB down.

60k up WTF!!!!

Typical NTL. To stop people running servers!

i feel very poor compared to you lot.

£25 p/m, 512kb, 256kb up.

ive had it for 3 years and has never failed me.

but in a couple of months i will be needing to set up a network between 3 computers, so does that mean i will have to upgrade my connection speed or will 512kb do?

upgrade your package, £25 p/m for 512Kb is a rip off

you'll want atleast 2Mb for 3 pc's
