Perhaps English teachers are better suited to perusing alt.english
than microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware. Last I checked this was
newsgroup for helping people with hardware problems when using
Windows XP. If you have nothing to add that's on topic it is best to
just move on to the next thread or at least change the header to
reflect that your post is OT.
If you are a retired English teacher I am very sorry for the students
that had to endure your classes.

I retired through ill-health and my kids were very sorry to see me go. I
still go back occasionally to help out. Our Key Stage 1 and 2 pass rate was
continually in the mid to high 90%.

Then you had a different attitude in the classroom than you do on Usenet.
Behaviourist teaching usually emphasises rewarding good behaviour rather
than punishing bad behaviour. If a teacher publicly ridiculed a pupil like
you do in some posts they wouldn't last long in most western culture school
systems. I am sorry about your health.

My point about off topic posts still stands. If you feel duty bound to
correct peoples grammar without adding any other value to the thread please
insert an OT into the header. I have seen you post on topic before. The
answers were usually spot on. I would like to read those posts but I am
tired of reading rants about poor grammar and spelling.
