Box it up and take it back to the store. You're too stupid to own a
computer.

Excuse me? And.... *you* are??

Hmm...would you care to post accredited credentials or statistics that
define you as a resident expert on this newsgroup, and your moderator
privileges for this newsgroup, here for all of us to see??

I mean...I'd like to see what gives you the feeling that you, and a few
others like you, to verbally attack someone who comes here looking for help,
who may not be as knowledgeable of how things work and asks a simple
question seeking help, in such an arrogant, rude and imperious manner. Just
*who* the Hell do you think you are??? You know...there seems to be a few
jerks on this newsgroup who think that you own the territory, and you can
treat people who come here any way you please. No matter their language
barrier or their level of computer experience. But, excuse me...you must
have all been born with your Intel chip in your rectum.

You're WRONG!!. This not *your* or anyone else's newsgroup! If you want to
play God then start your own newsgroup. Otherwise, if your going to come
here, then go back and read the rules regarding newsgroup etiquette that
applies to this newsgroup

Now BACK OFF COWBOY!! *Everyone* has a right to use this newsgroup, to post
a question, or offer a response, no matter what their level of expertise or
native language is, and *you* nor anyone else has the right to verbally
belittle or demean them in any manner. If you don't like what they have to
say, then you have the right NOT to answer. So, do them and the rest of us
the courtesy and don't.

Yes, it is.

You may certainly take it out of context if you wish, Bill. However, I
think it is rather clear in what manner I meant this statement. That the
newsgroup is not anyone's personal domain, or gives them the right to
verbally harass or intimidate those who come here seeking help, simply
because they don't measure up to someone's ideal level of expertise. It is
my understanding that this is an international newsgroup, and if this is
true, then you will have a variety of people who post with various levels of
knowledge and experience with many areas of computer use, and perhaps have
English language exceptions, which are not their fault. To tell someone
that they are an idiot and don't deserve to own a computer simply because
they may not be experienced with various aspects of use, viruses, spam, and
such, in my opinion, is not acceptable. Thus, my statement that the
newsgroup is not any one individual's private domain, and they don't have
the right to verbally assault others who some here. That is what I meant by
"your* or anyone else's newsgroup". It is no one persons personal domain,
but, it belongs to anyone who comes here looking for help. And they should
not have to be subjected to such unkind and demeaning treatment by any one
on this newsgroup.

Should you or anyone else disagree with what I have said, then, it is, of
course your right, and I respect that. But, in the same token, respect my
right to say that ...verbally trashing someone who may not be as
experienced, knowledgeable, or capable of expressing themselves according to
some peoples expectations is just not fair, not right, uncalled for, and not
in keeping with the whole concept of what the newsgroups are supposed to be
all about. Unless this one is in it's own small world or exception. Either
way...I stand my ground.

Sorry....I don't believe that of this or any other newsgroup per se...just
because you say so. I see the overall quality of the majority of folks here
on this newsgroup who come here and volunteer their time to help others
without passing judgment on the person who posts a question. They are not
biased, and try to offer helpful information with only the intention that it
may help someone.

Nope...I'm still not convinced, Bill. ;-))

Bill said:
Ok. you're not convinced.

Bill, I am truly always interested to hear other folk's side of things, as I
don't pretend to know everything, and everyone has a right to express their
views. But, you are only tossing out 'lil pebbles at me here, and not giving
me anything to base your exceptions on. So, if you don't agree with me,
then why not tell me your take on it. I mean, come on guy, don't just take
pot shots at me and not tell me why. Don't just tell me I'm wrong but not
why you think I am.

Sheesh..I'm not so thin skinned that I can't take some well meant criticism.
I'm not trying to bait you into anything you don't want to do, but, it
puzzles me as to why you express your disagreement with me, but...not why.
If my high school Algebra teacher had only told me that my answers were
wrong, but not why, I might not have been able to pass Calculus, and I would
not have been able to invent Fancy Feets..... ;-))

You're wasting your time.

Then you should know when you're being trolled. Didn't they teach you
anything in college? ;)

Yeppa.....and that's why I laid the glove on the floor. Didn't they teach
you fencing in college? A very exacting and disciplined sport...and
patience is a must... ;-))

Well, had it been your panties I might have responded with more than
two or three words.

Hmm...well....I'll have to keep that in mind the next time we spar...<vbg>

Which kind of makes using this NG pretty redundant wouldn't you say, given
the quality of some of the responses?
Glad you found your answer.

Which brings up the point that if prople would just READ (for example,
google for it) they wouldn't have to ask.
