Just in case the original post didn't get an answer, (using Vista)

Go to the control panel (classic view) and double click Security Center,
Then click - Change the way Security Center alerts me,
Select - Don't notify me and don't show the icon.
Ignore the warning - (not recommended)
Back out and Reboot.

Which turns off all Security Center notifications, which may not be
what is desired...

Zaphod

Arthur Dent, speaking to Trillian about Zaphod:
"So, two heads is what does it for a girl?"
"...Anything else he's got two of?"

You might want to consider (next time) just posting your question
instead of chastising previous contributors of an old thread.

That original thread can be found here:

http://forums.techarena.in/vista-security/952106.htm

....and if you must reply to an old thread, including some pertinent
portions of that content in your post would be helpful.

Better yet, opt to use an NNTP client instead of a web based NNTP
gateway.

You guys are funny, i happened to come across this thread by chance
whilst looking for a solution to another problem, and was amazed by
some
of the comments you have made here and still no solution to problem, i
looked for a way to do this when i first installed vista nearly 2
years
ago and found the solution at the vista forums i think any how i
copied
and pasted the solution into my document archives in case i
reinstalled
heres what ya do :)

Did you even read the original question?

It's not about disabling UAC, it's about disabling the notification from
the security center that your UAC (or whatever) is disabled. Just read
the subject line, it says it all.

....and the answer has been given several times in this newsgroup.
