Thank you. Now, I'm going to bash my head against it for at least 20 minutes.

:p

I still do not think it is a memory 'problem' and we still do not know if it is only games that crash. ;)

Thing is i lack the floppy drive :o so im kinda stuffed
But nevermind guys ill figure something out probly bring the comp into PC world let them sort it out

Thanks for the much appreciated help

Its only games that crash it i have no problems wotsoever that with normal software and desktop stuff and the net it purely happens with games. :(

OK - to make a bootable CD for Memtest, download the pre-compiled bootable ISO (zip) from HERE to your desktop.

Extract the zip contents to your desktop (right click the file, select 'extract to here')

Open Nero SmartStart, go to Copy & Backup>Burn Image to Disc - browse to the file on your desktop called 'memtest86+-1.65' click on it and press 'open'.

Nero will then bring up the Burn Compilation Box, make sure you have a blank CD-R in your drive, then click 'Burn'

Go have a cup of tea whilst it finishes.....

Once finished, do as Floppybootstomp says in post#15 and make sure your boot priority is for your CD/DVD drive first.

Put the CD in the drive and re-boot - then follow the instructions.

When finished, remember to take out the CD and re-boot, go back into the Bios and change the boot priority back to your Hard Drive as No1.

Ady's right :)

Sometimes, I wonder, how the **** did we ever attract so many good peeps?

Oh, alright, I know, I'm drunk, but, hey.....

EDit: I am going to regret this in the morning, lol ..... ;)

Wow i got the sob to work :bow:so............what results am i looking for exactly?? Also whats the maximum amount of tests it runs?? When should i stop??
Somone said something about 4hours?? Can the results be saved to desktop so i can tell PC service **** the results??

Thanks again

Well done mate :thumb:

Most errors will show up on the first few runs, but I would leave it for 4+ hours to make sure.

It will display an error clearly at the end of each run - have a look at the Memtest Home Page for details - also you may consider posting any errors on the dedicated Memtest86+ Forums.

Aye, if you don't see any errors shown after a long test - your memory is very likely OK :)

Which means you have to look elsewhere for your prob. Consider my suggestion about case side off and house fan blowing in.

ok the problem u are encountering is due to a colour managing program (or something like that i dont know what it does i never used it) that came installed on your pc i had the same problem when i got mine took me months to find the source of the problem, i even bought a new graphics card.

unfortunately... i cant remember what the program is called but it is the source of the problem and you do not need it for anything. u should be able to spot it hope this helps you if you haven't already fixed the problem :)
