How can a hard disk be wiped?

Well... it`s all over. Went back to the shop, they switched the board with no awkward questions. Any items claimed to be faulty that turn out to be fine after a check are subject to a £20 fee in this place but they basically told me to beat it coz they had a backlog. I was out the shop before there was any chance of them askin for cash! NICE! (and they dont have my details)

Oh... the important bit- does the Mobo work? Yes, finally it does. Also managed to get my windows disk to do its thing- my computer is now more-or-less back to the way it was. Relief is an understatement. It only took 3 boards in 6 days.

Retailers can demand that the consumer pays the return cost of carriage but only if they state this in the terms and conditions. However, this doesn’t apply if the goods are faulty because then the Sale of Goods Act states that the consumer shouldn’t be left out of pocket. (mucks note ... it is on the earnest of the trader to prove the good were not faulty.)

Retailers are also not allowed to charge what is called a “restocking fee” (to cover the cost of things such as repackaging) for returned goods.
Nice you finally got it sorted. :thumb:

Hi Kenny

Glad you got it sorted in the end, I can thoroughly recommend Gigabyte boards as I have never had any snags with them and they have some great feature sets available including Dual Bios chips. I am on my third board and the other two are still working fine after 6 years !!:D
