Home Network Help Please

Hmmm  ... glad you got it sorted in the end.

I went over to my Sister-in-law yesterday to set-up her "network" in preparation for her Cable being installed on Tuesday ... Thought I would be in for some hassle because she's using ME, however, I was pleasantly surprised that it was all straightforward.

Now as long as the Cable Installers do their job properly all should work as predicted. ;)

:D

We installed our own cables, just a few floorboards lifted and holes drilled later, it all looks pretty neat.

My bro was using windows 98 before we got the router, i slapped ME on to make my life easier. Windows 98 wouldnt even recognize his USB ports :| . His comp aint up to XP i dont think :(.

My bro had 98 before we got the route, i slapped ME on to make my life easier.

That good enough for ya tech?

not really, can't see how thats gonna make life easier, you'll see what i mean in time mate!

anyone in here (or even the world) will tell you it's crap and more trouble than it's worth.

but good luck!

Well i've had it for about 4 years on 6 different systems (AMD and Intel Processors) and i havent had any major problems ever!

Whats so bad about it then?

do a search on google for "ME" and "problems", will most likley crash your machine with the amount of results. (especially if you using ME! :))

well since I'VE had ME its never gone wrong, not anyone else, i dont care if it went wrong for them to be honest.

Have you ever had problems with it, or are you just just going by what everyone else seems to be saying?

anyone in here (or even the world) will tell you it's crap and more trouble than it's worth.
... used it often in the days before XP. They are still out there all working fine, and it was me that set-up my S-I-Ls systems with ME. :p

Sorry Techy, but its "the Customers" that give you more of a headache than ME ... I will admit it's not the best OS in the world but as long as manufacturers take the time and trouble to write software for the OS that works properly, and I'm sorry again, it IS their job to do so, then I see no problem with ME

I have also "upgraded" many a 95/98 system to ME ... not had one come back yet and complain. ;)

Mind you, I do take time and trouble to ensure the OS is properly updated/upgraded before releasing it to the customer, it is getting a wee bit loong in the tooth, but not as OLD as 98. :D

I dont dont which laugh to do:

An evil genius laugh like: Mwhahaha hahahaah ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa

A little girl: hehehehehehehehehe

Or a sorta posh millionaire: har har har
You see, ME aint perfect, but it aint all bad ;).
