With susch low brain functions and awareness of self,
I'm not sure it could work its way up to narcissicism;
but it sure looks like it did, I agree.

I could agree with that except ... it's a miscreant
turned troll. That said however, one should never feed
the trolls, so ... umm, well, it's so fun sometimes.

Greetings --

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), nor Works or the Works Suite, have _ever_ been "part"
of *any* Windows operating system. They are, and always have been,
separate applications, that must be purchased and installed
separately.

Excel, Works can be purchased separately or in various bundles (Office, Word
w/Works, OEM versions etc.) Also, freeware spreadsheets and word
processors - even "Office" type bundles - are available for download on
Internet or can be ordered on CD for a processing and shipping fee (about
$10 or so).

Dear Becky
If you haven't specifically ordered these products or
they were not included in the PC specification then you
will not have them. They are not part of Windows XP but
are separate packages that need to be purchased
separately. If you are unsure then check your invoice or
talk to the people you bought the PC from.
If you had a PC before with these packages on do you
still have the installation CD's. If so they will
probably load on the new PC (provided they are not too
ancient).
Good luck.

Chances are that computer didn't come with excel or office installed. These
are add on progr ams offered by microsoft for a price extra to the
operating system. Some more expensive computers come with them preinstalled
and it is easy to get used to the idea of it just being there.

You might find that Microsoft office is a little expensive for you at first.
If this is the case, i would like to point you to www.openoffice.org . This
is a free open source program that is simular to microsoft office and will
allow most of the functionality you would need like word proccessing, spread
sheets, and even somedata base accessing utilities. You will probable find
it isn't as polished as microsoft office and you will need to save your
files in the compatable format instead of it's default. This might be a good
solution to fill in until you get Microsoft office but you would likly want
to have Microsoft office installed. Then again, i have one user that seems
to be able to acomplish everythign he needs to with it and likes the Open
office much better.

Well I really would like to know, how do you guys allow this half-human being called Miss Perspicacia...... to post in this forum..

The only thing she can do is to insult those who have questions..

I guess that Miss Perspicacia Tick is the kind of person who think is the greatest on the Internet, but in the outside live is a LOSER who doesn't even know how a garbage can works!

Get yourself a life you ignorant selfish!

PORTUGAL TERRA DE PAIXAO, GLORIOSA PATRIA QUE FUTURO BRILHANTE IRRADIA

PORTUGAL! PORTUGAL! PORTUGAL!
.......proud to be Portuguese....

Miss Perspicacia Tick (a.k.a Amethyst, Cassandra, and many other aliases),
your posts are extremely rude, and counter-productive.

1) This is a Microsoft newsgroup designed to help people with questions
about Microsoft products.
2) People have a right to ask questions and make mistakes.
3) This is not English class. (Especially since you make MANY spelling and
grammar errors yourself)
4) Not everyone here speaks fluent English
5) If someone isn't following USENET etiquette, politely inform them of
their error if you expect them to listen. Calling them a moron is just
going to cause them to label you as a jacka**, and they will not listen.
6) This is a newsgroup to help
(http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=help) people, not criticise them
and be demeaning towards them.
7) If they post something off-topic, politely ask them to post in the
correct newsgroup.
8) If someone posts an incorrect solution, politely correct them.

-Being rude and demeaning as you are, only makes yourself appear
unintelligent, immature, insecure, and just plain isn't nice.

-If you are as intelligent as you try to appear to be, you would understand
that attacking people, is a very inferior thing to do. Are you so insecure
in life that you have to resort to attacking people about trivial things in
a Microsoft newsgroup? Are you so insecure that you can't stop and say to
yourself, "OK, this person just did something wrong. Why did they do it?
Was it on purpose?" and then respond politely. Are you so insecure that you
have to attack people who already are struggling with computer, and belittle
them even more, thus making yourself feel like some wolf that's establishing
its dominance? Are you so insecure that you have to act like some wild
animal, and belittle people, to make yourself feel dominant and superior?

Why do you feel the need to insult people? Nothing good comes of it. There
is no need for it. If you can think of a single reason for why we should
insult people, please tell us.
