Virus

Virus is a very common problem in computer world , so there will be no body who have not experienced virus problem.

I downloaded what appeared to be a legitimate piece of s/w only to find it had a few nasties packed inside.
The nasties used the applications access rights to embed themselves in the reg, system32, drivers etc and then protect themselves.
Turned the system into a zombie.

Format reload. Soo much damage had been done that it was quicker to do this.

Other viruses I've had..... SirCam, Sasser, Blaster..... but then again..... at one point I had a range of systems that were image based that were purposely infected for analysys (was part of me job)

A most profound and enlightened statement Sir :)

Since 1996 I've had two, one in a photo e-mailed to me by a friend, her computer had been nobbled and everybody on her e-mail list got it without her knowledge. That was in 2001. Then late 2005 my system was crippled by another and I'm not saying how I got that one :D

Both instances occasioned a format c:

Confusion has set in..???

I have only had one virus, "axel.dav" at the begiining of the year..What fun that was...You can reformat all you want, you can use what ever software you want to wipe the disk clean, but you'll never get rid of it..Only solution is remove HDD and chucl it in the nearest skip...

OMG! I didnt realise that many people dont have Anti-virus, Perhaps newbie they think anti-virus is not free? So they decide to care for the PC instead of the Anti-virus?
