I used Printrite successfully in my
previous Epson printer but using
them in my new Photo R320 has involved me in a lot of head cleaning
processes, so I'm not very happy with them now.

Thanks for your input..... is it really the ink or is it the
printer..? Dunno if this is of interest to you...

Print Rite inks are made by Multi-Union Trading Co Ltd of Hong Kong

Design a nice little label give it a name like "Cloggalot"
and they will fill em til your hearts content... but
ya gotta pay um of course, then you can put a price on
them.

as per pcworld they could not even complete their testing before
printrite inks clogged their test printer. they do not have anything
good to say about it.

they also clooged pcworld test printers and they could not even get
through a test.

Since few sellers (online or brick) sell BCI-3e black cartridges that
are pigmented, I would not be willing to chance a purchase from these
places you name.

you do not know what you are talking about. try costco, staples, office
depot, office max, frys, buy.com and many many others.
I do believe alotofthings does have quality pigmented black cartridges.

they will not tell you what they are selling so you will never know
Perhaps someone here can confirm this . . . I'm too
tired right now to go to eBay and check.

Well, let's be perfectly honest and totally truthful here.
Alothofthings has, what, 12,000 positive feedbacks on eBay?

so did yugo
How many positives do you have, again? I hear you've been mostly
killfiled here

that means i have to type less. i am glad. i never want advice form
them ever
(probably by that same number of people - 12,000 :-). Not much of a
positive feedback is it. Your credibility here has been destroyed,
thanks to yourself.

not true. not from the people whos advice i value.

Goodo,
trouble is, we're getting all the good ones............ we need the
crap ones as well..... surely there must be one or two have used
dodgy brands.

Come think there must be load's of good and bad brands, surely all the
suppliers don't all sit in a dark secluded corner...... busy fillin'
by day n' fillin' by night, so who's doing it for them..?

Gee, folks I thought I'd have hundreds of replies ... bet you all use
OEM on the quiet....!

Every time I look at Mona Lisa, she sort's of smiles and say's...
"Oh no not another clog, never mind dear".

Davy
I don't do anywhere near as much refilling as many of those here, and my
requirements aren't as stringent as their's are, but I haven't really
run into any "bad" ones yet. I've been refilling HP carts, most
successfully the 56 and 57 carts for the past two years. I used an HP
612C before that, and while I refilled the black cart many times I was
rarely fully successful with the tricolor. I have always thought I just
didn't get to the tricolor cart quickly enough to prevent damage before
attempting the refill.

I've been using up the ink in a bulk "universal" refill kit I bought at
a garage sale in 2003. The name on the label was "Filljet." The kit was
labeled as "pigmented," but I suspect only the black was pigmented and
the color is probably dye-based. The kit's label proclaims that it was
"Proudly Made in the USA" and gives a Scottsdale, Arizona address. The
black worked fine until I used it up and I bought a pint of "Super
Pigmented Black Ink for HP Printers" from Ink4inkjets.com. That ink has
also been fine. Lately I've noticed that grays produced with the
tricolor cart lean toward the cyan, but other color printing looks
great. I suspect the age of the ink has something to do with it. Since I
bought it at a garage sale I have no idea how old it actually is, or how
it was stored before I got it. (I thought a deal of 75 ML of each color
for only $5 total was worth a shot, anyway.)

No clogs so far, and all prints have been satisfactory, except for the
bluish-grays mentioned above. Most of the time I don't even notice them
unless I'm looking for them.

BTW, the carts I have been refilling had been refilled by an outfit
called "LD Products" when I bought them. Except for the carts in the PSC
2110 when I got it, I have never used OEM-filled carts in it.

Thank's TJ, more input the merrier

There must be many people out there had good or bad experience wit
differing brands of ink, we need more, more and more.... guess I'

This post is a spin off from a earlier posting and hopefully when
enough data has been gathered we'll try and produce a list of.....
The Good the Bad and the Ugly ones.

So please lets us know what ink you use and don't use and WHY...
hopefully we'll try and make a list of inks for all too see.

I use Hobbicolors. The ink is fine. Yes, I don't know who actually
manufactured it, but that doesn't matter, as OEM doesn't either.

On the other hand, the cartridges I got from them aren't the greatest, so I
might buy another couple OEM to replace the failed Hobbicolors carts, or
see if I can get some foamless carts or whatever.

Thanks to Slid another added to the list

There must be tons more, looks like there's only one no go to date.
What dya think of the idea..... am I wasting my time or is it
good idea..?

Dav

you may be wasting your time since the relabelers do not disclose and
you may be listing may labels that are the same product. one label is
reported as good, another as bad, and both are the exact same thing. to
me this is a waste of time.

canon, hp, and epson all formulate their own ink and manage the quality
and labeling and marketing of their prouct.

my my my other posters claim they have the best carts. that goes to

From the UK ...

I have used three different inks in my Epson Stylus Photo 890: Epson, PC
World and Printrite (from www.tonezoneuk.com).

My test page was from the Digital Dog web site.

Best results (colours) were with Epson ink.

Printrite was a very close second and is my daily choice.

PC World was cr@p.

I've had no clogging problems with any of them.

There always are some "know it all jerks" out there. You keep
verifying it.
