This is an off-the-wall question.

My laptop recently was repaired by HP and they glued my oem sticker back on
which
made a mess out of the bottom of my laptop plastic case. The sticker has
fallen back off
and Microsoft will not replace, nor will HP.....they are both good at
pointing fingers at one
another.

Macs look better all the time.

Anyone know of the type of glue HP uses? and how to remove it without
scratching
the heck out of the plastic case. I have tried alcohol, non-acetone nail
polish remover,
WD-40, no luck!

If you can get hold of brake cleaner ( at a garage or friendly car
mechanic ) , very flammable , but evaporates very quickly .

Fill the bathtub. Go to the garage and get a belt sander. Put on a new
belt on the sander. Take the belt sander into the bathroom.

Power up your laptop, then drop the laptop into the tub. Let is soak for 10
minutes. Then take the belt sander and clean the bottom of the laptop.

That should about do it.

Dat is Da Truth.

A piece of 2" clear packaging tape will do the job. Turn computer over,
place label in the original location, apply clear tape over label, rub with
fingernail to secure. Covers, sticky mess and re-secures the label in one
simple step.

And it protects it from abrasion and wearing off the info.

Did that to mine the day I opened the box.
