Gallium Nitride to Replace Silicone in CPUs

Will you upgrade to the GaN when it's available?

Do we know if GaN is going to be a lot more expensive than silicon? I would have thought that is likely as silicon is very abundant and gallium much less so. Also silicon based technology seems to work pretty well for the average man in the street. :)

Think you need a "Don't Know" in the options, AAL. ;)
 
It may be several years before it becomes mainstream, but I see this as possibly being the needed hardware breakthrough that will allow faster processors.
