Freeware version of Clean Slate, Drive Shield, and/or Deep

Anyone have a freeware version of Clean Slate, Drive Shield, and/or Deep
Freeze. They all stop the hard drive from being screwed with. Whenever the
computer is restarted the drive reverts back to the original "frozen" state.

Anybody have a freeware equivalent to Deep Freeze
(http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp)? I set my Grandmother up
on a PC some years back and the main trouble she has with it is
everyone who visits her has to "fix" it. I generally have to go and
repair the damage.
