Wel, according to chapter 4 of 'learning-to-understand-your-mother' the
son-in-law is always smarter, and chapter 6 says something about paid things
being better than freebies ;)

Freeware Haven seekers.

I used to use Norton utilities to keep house clean, except it did not
really work, and if you tried to get rid of it, you could not.
Whatever prompted those idiots to make it so hard to remove?
My problem was recurring hijacking from browsing with IE

HA!!! Norton needs a special download to help uninstall it! Then you're
still lucky if you're not stuck with that infernal "Protected Recycle Bin".
Now I use ad aware, sbybot S&D, AVG anti virus, crap cleaner, Ewido
anti-trojan, sygate personnel firewall, mozilla firefox ( with anon
proxy).. all free, and all very much superior to their payware
equivalents

I refuse to use Crap Cleaner until the author cleans up the name. :)

Actually he calls is ccleaner.. but , if you are not joking, give it a
whirl. It is the simplest quickest windows cleaner I know of. I uses
some of the others like reagseeker and easycleaner, and they are good,
but laziness and ease of use draws me back to ccleaner

I'm not sure ifwindows cleaners have any real virtue... but the
prospect of the registry growing with out limit made me a convert
