Credit where credit is due. ALL of the hilarious quotes below are
direct from our own "IBM Ronnie" Retard, AKA Ron Reaugh, AKA Rod
Speed.

Hey Rod^Hn, do you still stand by all of these statements, or have you
changed your mind at all, regarding IBM's quality? Wouldn't want to
admit that you were wrong, or anything like that...

Sorry Chrisv I *thought* it sounded familiar, too subtle for me...
Doh!

That wouldn't be the same emminent poster who latterly regularly
stated "They don't call them Deathstars for nothing" would it?

Hi John,

I have yet to receive one older than a couple of years. I do receive
the recent models - they are absolute pigs to fix. Samsung themselves
are distinctly unhelpful with technical information to boot. Don't buy.

Hello, Duncan:

Ouch! Back in March, I did purchase two Samsung SP1614N (160GB) hard
disks, based on the predominately-favorable comments that I'd seen,
here. They've been running in my main PC, for nearly five months; no
problems, whatsoever, and they're literally silent.

At least, I can never hear them above the din of my power supply fan(s).
The same couldn't be said of the Maxtor HDD's they replaced (13.6GB &
17.2GB, respectively), nor my original Western Digital 2.5GB.

I've always found Samsung's products to be well-made, reliable and
affordably priced...I only hope my luck holds out. :-J

When I ran Samsungs, I found them to be quick and quiet, although they
did run rather hot. In their favour is their 3-year warranty but that
doesn't prevent data loss!

As Rod Speed, yes, he called them Deathstars. As Ron Reaugh, however,
doing that would be admitting error, which is something that Rod^Hn
simply does not do.

He refuses to discuss the issue now, of course, which is his standard
operating procedure when he has been shown to be wrong. Indeed, when
he's badly embarrassed, as he was with the Deskstar debacle (popular
theory is that, after his staunch defense of IBM, his own IBM drive(s)
failed), the "Ron Reaugh" personae will leave the group entirely for
an extended period of time, rather than face-up to how wrong he was.

Hello, Chris:

I sincerely doubt that Rod Speed and Ron Reaugh are one and the same
person. Where is the >real< evidence, may I ask?
